Self-healing Model for Distributed Environments based on Artificial Life techniques

The main contribution of this work is the development of several algorithms to achieve robustness and self-healing of distributed systems based on artificial life techniques. These techniques are proposed for applications such as data collection and synchronisation in distributed environments. Also, the data-collection application is employed to enable agents to collect and share information about a network’s topology, which is in turn essential for self-repairing the network structure. A model to recover mobile agents while collecting data is also provided.

Termites System with Self-healing based on Autonomic Computing

This work presents a mechanism of programs self-healing in an environment of agents looking for food. The failure system is defined based on initial failures that each agent (termite) has on its agent program. By using language games concepts and the Q-learning algorithm termites obtain enough information to determine if their programs are failing based on a simple voting system. By using the voting system and storing a ranking of possible missing codelines, mutations are induced on the code and the system is capable of recovering the programs while each agent perform food search.

Se definió un sistema de almacenamiento de registros del sistema donde cada registro tiene un hash correspondiente al anterior manteniendo la integridad de los mismos. Adicionalmente se provee una interfaz web de consulta para el análisis de los registros del sistema.
